Decals can be applied through a hot or cold process. Hot application process suits the glass that can stand high temperature baking at 530‑650°C, and involves both organic and non‑organic compound paints. When exposed to heat, the former burn away completely, and the latter are fixed in the top surface layer. This technology can also involve natural metals for image edging, frost surface or imitate laser engraving.

Cold application process is a good fit when baking is not an option — for example, due to the size of a bottle or its inability to withstand high temperatures. As opposed to the hot process, cold decal can be applied to an already coated bottle.

Decal technology brings some undeniable advantages, such as the ability to decorate effectively all shapes and sizes, unique designs, long lifetime, wear resistance, and vibrant prints.

In some scenarios extraordinary effects, such as glowing in the dark or colour changing depending on the ambient temperatures, may be required. Transparent decal paints containing special fluorescent dyes and pigments can satisfy these requirements too.
